The Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) proceedings always start with Tilawat, the recitation of selected verses from the Holy Qur’an. This sacred book, revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as a guide for all humanity, holds immense blessings and serves as a source of divine knowledge.

Reciting the Holy Qur’an in a melodious manner is considered a form of worship and a means to seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty. It is a way to express gratitude and praise to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Allah Himself encourages the recitation of the Qur’an with beauty and reflection, as mentioned in the Holy Qur’an: “And recite the Qur’an melodiously and thoughtfully.” (Chapter 73, Verse 5)

The purpose of reciting the Holy Qur’an during Jalsa Salana is to remind ourselves of the divine guidance it offers and to seek Allah’s guidance on the righteous path. The Qur’an is a vast treasure trove of knowledge, containing profound insights and blessings. When recited with sincerity, obedience, and reverence, the words of the Qur’an have the power to lead individuals towards the truth and certainty of a Living God. The hearts of those who engage in the recitation, listening, and contemplation of the Qur’an are deeply moved and captivated by the majesty and love of Allah Almighty.

During Jalsa Salana, the recitation of the Holy Qur’an creates an immersive experience, enveloping the attendees in a spiritual atmosphere. The melodious recitation resonates with the hearts and souls of the listeners, instilling a sense of tranquility and connection with the divine. It serves as a reminder of the importance of aligning one’s life with the teachings and principles outlined in the Holy Qur’an.
