In a world driven by materialism and worldly desires, the Jalsa Salana (annual convention) stands as a unique gathering that acts as a healthy reminder of Allah’s blessings and our responsibilities as Muslims. Away from the allure of extravagance, the Jalsa Salana serves as a place for spiritual rejuvenation and the propagation of Islam. During these three days, everyone immerses themselves in increased religious and spiritual devotion, forging bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, and engaging in virtuous acts.
What sets this convention apart from worldly gatherings, is the fact that God Almighty had made a promise to help Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah (as), at every step of his mission.
The Promised Messiah (as) has said: “The key purpose of this convention, is to enable every sincere individual, to personally experience religious benefit, to broaden their knowledge and to deepen their understanding of Allah The Almighty…the other benefits rest here to have escalation of acquaintanceship among all brothers and this will strengthen the loving relationship within the community… I re-emphasize that you must not rank this convention in the same league as other, ordinary, human assemblies. This is a phenomenon that is based purely on the Divine Help, for propagation of Islam.’’
The most blessed purpose of Jalsa is to spend time in remembrance of Allah and to understand the purpose of our creation, which is to attain the nearness of God and worship Him and solely mould our lives in gaining the pleasure and love of God.
The reality is that true peace and contentment can only be attained through a deep connection with God Almighty. The path to tranquillity of the soul and mind lies within this connection. By immersing oneself in the remembrance of Allah, hearts find solace and comfort, paving the way for inner peace and serenity.
“It is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts can find comfort.” (Chapter 13, verse 29)
