The Maintenance department is another department that is very important in the setup of the Jalsa Salana. This department covers the whole site and is responsible for the electricity, water supply, sewerage and piping system of the whole site. Due to the temporary setup of the site, the toilets and showering cabins are hired and their connections to a water supply and sewerage system are assembled and installed by volunteering members of the community who are well experienced in this field. Everything is pre-installed prior to the three-day event.

This is a very important department that facilitates to the basic needs of the guests of the Promised Messiah (as). Since cleanliness is part of faith in Islam, as stated by the Holy Prophet (sa):

الطُّهُورُ شَطْرُ الإِيمَانِ

‘Cleanliness is half of faith…’

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 223)

Hence, a fresh clean water supply is essential, and experienced workers volunteer to ensure that this supply can facilitate members and guests with clean water., and hot water for showering.
