My name is Sehrish Tahir, and I am from Sheffield Jamaat. By the Grace of Allah the Almighty, I was blessed to receive an award for academic excellence by our beloved Huzoor (May Allah be his Helper) at Jalsa Salana UK 2019. I had studied for Master of Arts in Education at Sheffield Hallam University and achieved a first-class degree, being among the top 5% in my cohort. Alhamdulillah. It had been an extremely hard journey for me, but Allah the Almighty gave me the strength to keep going. He made my husband my ardent supporter for me to achieve well. Alhamdulillah.
So, when all of us were waiting, seated in lines for Huzoor (May Allah be his Helper) to come to the Ladies’ Jalsa Gah, I was already very nervous, yet, delighted to see him. It was time to be called up and I was extremely nervous, but I was just looking at Huzoor’s (May Allah be his Helper) radiant face. I had rehearsed everything in my head: how I would address beloved Huzoor (May Allah be his Helper) and Aapa Jaan. But when my name was called out, I felt like I had forgotten everything; I felt pure happiness and contentment!
I feel so blessed and so thankful to Allah the Almighty who has bestowed me with this honour. It was indeed one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Alhamdulillah.
