Divided by nation, united by faith. Such is the spirit of obedience and fidelity of the people towards the Jamaat. We consider ourselves exceptionally blessed for being a part of a community that is leading a life in the guidance of a God-appointed Khalifa.

In a speech during Jalsa Salana Qadian, (December 27, 1914) His Holiness Mirza Bashirud-Din Mahmood Ahmad (ra) explaining the relevance of Khilafat mentioned, “You have someone who has true sympathy for you; who truly loves you; who considers your pain and sufferings to be his own; and who is always praying to Allah for you.”

And it is not incorrect to mention that no other group today can claim of an institution as pure and pious as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community does.

The word Khalifa is used for the one who carries forward the work of his predecessor. His appointment is consecrated by Allah Himself. Therefore, his words are regarded no less than a commandment and we, the people, ardent followers.

Soon after taking over the reins of Khilafat in 2003, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the present Khalifa, clearly declared in the Friday sermon, that if one wishes to prosper in the world it is advisable to hold tight to the rope of Khilafat, without it one is deprived of the greatest bounty of the Lord in this time.

When Allah raises someone to the status of Khilafat, He also blesses his prayers with assured acceptance. In fact, the supplications of the Khalifa are more powerful than the prayer of any other individual. (Mansab-e-Khilafat, p.32)

This is evidence enough to compliantly abide by the words of the Khalifa and walk on the path shown by him; for His guidance is a dictum which we unquestionably stand by.

The headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat being in the United Kingdom makes the UK Jalsa Salana markedly auspicious as it is graced by the presence of His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba). And the people get the golden opportunity to repeat the Ba’ait with Huzoor (atba).

May Almighty Allah give us the grace to follow the path of taqwah, ameen.
